Since our brains are super sensitive to rotational forces—which are common in angled impacts on the mountain—MIPS works to reduce rotational motion, mitigating the likelihood of concussions.
Passive ventilation consistently maximizes airflow via non-adjustable helmet openings that release heat and humidity.

I've been a fan of Blenders goggles and sunglasses for a few years now and recently purchased a Chip MIPS Helmet. My Aura goggles fit seamlessly with the helmet and both worked well for 6 straight days of skiing in Colorado. The helmet is comfortable as well - and seems to temperature regulate really well on both warm and cold days.
My only wish is that Blenders made a clear lens for the Aura goggle. Low light lenses just don't work for me on snow days and at night. I've found cheapo clear goggles to wear on those occasions, but would prefer to be able to just switch out to a clear lens on my Aura goggles.
